Now there is good news for the fans of ‘Khichdi’. Actually, the film franchise is now returning with its third installment and actor-producer JD Majethia has also made its official announcement. JD Majethia is seen in the character of Himanshu in ‘Khichdi’.

According to News 24 report, when Majethia was asked about this, he said, “It is too early to talk about this because nothing has been finalized yet. The only thing that has been decided is that we want to do it and we will do it, so right now I don’t know what will happen, how it will be. The main cast will definitely come back and we will also get some new people.”
He added, “With time, the audience has become smarter and their demand for the kind of content they watch has also matured. They are no longer looking for slapstick comedy. Majethia further said that when it comes to Khichdi, people do not have such expectations. He said, “Just keep one thing in mind in Khichdi that family, friends should sit together, watch it and laugh heartily. Khichdi is a kind of party… a picnic for people. So what message you are giving becomes a different matter.”
Majithia narrated the story of the first episode of Khichdi.
Citing an incident, Majithia said that when Khichdi was first aired on TV in 2002, in its initial episode, Jayshree was shown with henna on her hands. The elderly women of the family objected to this, because Jayshree was a widow. A very sensitive topic was talked about in that episode. However, it did not create any controversy in India and in fact it got a good response. But I remember that I got a mail from Pakistan regarding this.
He further says, “At that time, sending emails was not common. But someone from across the border tried to find out my email ID and wrote to me about that particular episode. His email read, “Sir, your show has many fans in Pakistan too. That episode of yours was very good and the issue was also very relevant. But we see all those issues in every other show. We watch Khichdi because we laugh after watching it. So in this show, you just make people laugh. Don’t do all this.”
