About Dr. Reddy’s life:

She was born in Pudukottai in Tamil Nadu on July 30, 1883. Reddy’s parents wants to marry her at a young age but she had to complete her studies first. She took admission in Medical College, Madras to study the doctor. She was the first woman in the college who was studying in the doctor. Here, She had friendship with Annie Besant and Sarojini Naidu.

Left Medical career in the middle:

Dr. Reddy had left the medical career in the middle. By abandoning medical careers, She chose the path of politics. He was elect as the first woman member of the Madras Legislative Assembly. After this, She made some rules to eliminate the practice of getting marriage at an early age. Along with that, She also raise voice against the exploitation of women in society.

Cancer Hospital:

Dr Reddy’s sister died from cancer, after which she was in deep shock. She starts the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai in 1954 for the people. Let’s tell you that this cancer hospital is still one of the world’s most respected cancer hospitals. Here more than 80,000 cancer patients are treated every year. In 1956, She was awarded the Padma Bhushan to serve the country on behalf of the Government of India. He passed away on 22 July 1968 in Chennai.
